They had most of their children in Kempsey, NSW Australia but moved to Port Macquarie in 1892 and then returned to Kempsey in 1909, the Year James' father died, where they lived in Wide Street West Kempsey until 1921 when they moved to Stewart St, and later to Murwillumbah, NSW Australia.
