My mother was the daughter of Francis Richard Thrower (Frank) and Mary Florence Kelly (Molly).
Pat was born 31.10.1929, around the time of the Wall Street Crash, and that event, which precipitated the Great Depression of the 1930s had a profound effect on her life.

Her father, who worked for the Sydney County Council, kept his job but his wages dropped from five pounds per week to two pound ten. While the family did not suffer the severe hardship that the unemployed experienced, they nevertheless found it hard to make ends meet.

Patricia married Francis John Curnick, son of Arthur John Curnick and Ella Welch, on 15 Aug 1953. (Francis John Curnick was born on 4 Nov 1928 in Victoria Australia, died on 21 Sep 1973 and was buried in Kemps Creek, NSW Australia.). The cause of his death was lymphoma of the small bowel.

Patricia next married Robert Melville James after 1973. (Robert Melville James was born circa 1928 and died in 2023.)
