Alexander William⁴ Allan (William³, Alexander², William¹), born 13 October 1875 in 1 Terrace, Newington, Edinburgh, Scotland, died 22 November 1945 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, occupation 19 August 1916 Musketry Instructor & Farmer. Notes: Alexander served with the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry during the Boer War; he re-enlisted 19 August 1916, (SERN 3008) by which time he was the father of four children. He was 6 feet in height, weighing 165 lbs; with a medium complexion, grey hair and blue eyes. His stated religion was Presbyterian. He had a mole on his lower abdomen and one on the back or the right hip.

Alexander enlisted with the rank of private, but was almost immediately promoted to Corporal. He qualified as an Instructor in the UK and headed for France, but was repatriated to England, due to age and Rheumatism.
Alexander's family received a Disability Pension from 1918.

Alexander died in 1945, the Telegraph, Brisbane, 22 Nov 1946, publishing his memorial:

ALEXANDER. William Allan. in loving memory of my dear Husband Our Father, who passed away on November 22nd. 1945.

He married Juliet MacDonald, 16 August 1906, born 1883 in Inglewood, Queensland, Australia (daughter of Alexander MacDonald [1837 - 1907] and Nora Mary Vincent O'Keefe [1850 - 1925]), died 29 October 1975 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, census 31 March 1851 in 26 High Street, Kilmallie, Lochaber, resided 19 August 1916 in Birbeck Street, Albion, Brisbane. Juliet: Notes: Juliet was living with her mother when her husband enlisted in 1916.

Alexander married Juliet MacDonald on 16 Aug 1906.⁴⁸² (Juliet MacDonald was born in 1883 in Inglewood, Queensland Australia and died on 29 Oct 1975 in Brisbane, Queensland Australia ⁴⁸².)
