General Notes:
David was a member of the Ginninderra Cricket Club.
He was appointed a probationary constable in the NSW Police Service on 5th May 1892. His registration number 6397. In the official records, his personal details were: height 5'9", weight 11st 7lbs, hazel coloured eyes and brown hair with a fallow complexion. By the time he had joined the force, he was already married and had been previously employed as a farmer's shearer. His original rate of pay was roughly £9 per month. Through the Pay Register of the NSW Police force, his rate of pay increased as his rank did. Firstly to an Ordinary constable then to a 1st Class constable. At this stage of his career, he was earning approximately £12 per month.
He retired from the NSW Police force on 31st May 1916, aged 55, when he was serving at Orange, New South Wales and was paid police superannuation.
