Attended INST in Belfast and on completing his 'A'levels joined the Boa rd of Trade. Remained with the Department of Trade and industry to his ret irement on 6 March 2004. 1976 - 1980 was First secretary commercial at t he British Embassy in Tokyo. Awarded OBE in 1995. Retired in 2004

Robin married Christine Ann Ballard, daughter of Kenneth Percival Ballard and Pamela Davis, on 29 May 1971 in St Andrews, Sudbury, Middlesex England. (Christine Ann Ballard was born on 21 Nov 1951 in Kingsbury, Middlesex England.)
