Notes for JAMES HEY:
James Hey is buried in the same grave (H162 in Sherburn) as the following:
Harry, d 5.11.1891 aged 1 year, 2 months - "Son of James Hey"
Eleanor, d 10.7.1900 - "Infant daughter of James Hey"
George, d 13.4.1903, b 13.8.1890 - "Son of James Hey"
Sarah Ann Hey d 22.2.1895 aged 78 "Wife of James Hey"

A most uncertain family grouping given that Sarah Ann would have been 33 y ears older than James - and apparently managed to give birth to Eleanor ne arly 5 years after her own death.

This is further confused by the 1901c entry for Stream Farm - which now ap pears to be in the region of Barkston Ash/Coldhill. This entry lists Sar ah Ann Hey as a 36 year old Widow with 7 surviving children ranging in a ge from 2 to 16. This range of information is certainly more logical th an that provided above by the Sherburn church - I shall have to see the gr ave for myself (though it is in the area currently regarded as off-limit s) but in the meantime will proceed on the information that the 1901 infor mation is correct.

Noted events in his life were:

• Baptism: Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire, England, 17 Dec 1850.

James married Sarah Ann Hey, daughter of Tom Hey and Mary Ann East, on 13 Nov 1881 in All Saints, Castleford, West Yorkshire England. (Sarah Ann Hey was born about 1865 in Castleford, West Yorkshire England.)
