There is an absolutely indecipherable entry in the Sherburn Birth Regist er which appears to record the birth of "Urtan?", child of Richard and Lou isa Bell, born 20.5.1850 in Little Preston, baptised Sherburn 14.7.1850. T he Swillington burial would now appear to confirm this as URBAN.
The 1871c entry for this couple records Sarah Ellen, gd, 10, Swillingto n, in the household. This would have to be a child of either Thomas or Jam es, though I can't yet trace a marriage for either. Whichever, they must h ave died before 1881 as Sarah Ellen Bell, 18 (sic), Swillington, is recor ded as a Pauper in the Tadcaster Union Workhouse. The only Sarah E bo rn in Swillington that I can trace in the 1891c is a Sarah E Morgan ag ed 27 in Normanton, who then becomes 35 in the 1901c!
There is a YorksBMD Marriage record for 1861 which may pertain - Thomas Be ll and Eliza McWilliam, St Mary & St Nicholas, Kippax. (The 1891 entry f or Sarah Ellen Morgan lists a daughter named Eliza)
