General Notes:
John Parkin notes: Godfrey Oldfield was in the West Yorkshire Police Force, base in Wakefield, until he died on the 4th July 1985. In the police he was a detective on the M62 Coach Bombings and the Yorkshire Ripper Enquiry, along with many other cases. He finished his career as Assistant Chief Constable in the West Yorkshire Police Force. They had a very difficult task on the Yorkshire Ripper case, with all the documentation and interviews involved; it is possible a little easier these days with the aid of the modern computer software. The colosas amount of documentation and interviews, along with the hoax tape recording possibly lead to his early demise. <http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4RNWE_enGB330&q=George+Oldfield>
