1901 census was aged 5 and living at home in Rushbury Worked at Rectory, Rushbury as a groom /gardener for Rev. Jones. Enlisted in the Shropshire Yeomanry in Jan 1916 and was later transfered to the Cheshire regiment.He was drafted overseas in August 1916. He declined a commission. Was with the lewis gun section. Was awarded the military medal for conspicuous bravery in the field on August 1917 at Westhock Ridge,Ypres. Died from wounds received in action. Died April 16th 1918. Lance Corporal when he died. Buried at Haringhe (Bandaghem) military cemetery, Belgium.
