• Medical. Died of angina pectoris

• Emigration. Emigrated to Australia on the Ocean Empress on 18th Jan 1864.
Emigrated again on Northampton on 9 Jan 1880 with his wife Zellah (45), John (22), William (18) Joseph (16) Lucy (13) Minnie (8), Albert (6) & Alfred (4) . He also said at this time that he had a son Samuel living at Parramatta.

• Residence. on arrival in Australia he was listed as living at Flat? Bank Oldbury England and he said he had 5 cousing in Australia and knew Edwin Tyler in Newcastle (who had paid his 5 pound passage)
In Australia they are thought to have lived around the Waterloo, Marrickville, Ashfield, Redfern and later Many areas of Sydney.

Joseph married Zellah or Zillah Franks, daughter of Isaac Franks and Unknown, in 1853 in West Bromwich District, West Midlands England. (Zellah or Zillah Franks was born circa 1834 in Leyhton England (may be in Shropshire 40km west of West Bromwich) England, died on 20 Aug 1914 and was buried in Waverley Cemetery, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
