She separated from Tommy Eaton and had several jobs and several men. During the war, she was living in London and, with her man at the time, visited Robert Batey and his wife in Arlesey to escape the bombing. Robert said, 'You can stay, as long as you behave yourself, but not him.' Harry once said to her, 'Just send us a Christmas Card every year -- when we don't get one, we'll know you're dead'.
