Noted events in her life were: • emigrated, 13 Feb 1842. Age: 8. Arrived from Ireland on "Broom", with Parents Matthew (Ag.Lab) & Martha (Farmhand). Brothers John 11 & James 11mths & Sisters Matilda 12 & Margaret 5. All could read. All were Protestants. Elizabeth married Joseph Knight, son of George Knight and Mary Ann Bassett, on 2 Oct 1856 in Shellharbour, NSW Australia. (Joseph Knight was born on 23 Apr 1827 in Brighton, Sussex England, christened on 15 Jul 1827 in Brighton, Sussex England 82 and died on 27 Apr 1862 in Jamberoo, near Wollongong, NSW Australia.). The cause of his death was 7 weeks after his back was broken by a log rolling onto him. He was sawing logs into slabs, to use for an extension on h. |
