• fact. John was taxed 1s in the Poll Tax of Stithians, Cornwall 1660. He was taxed on one hearth in Wendron 1662 and 1664, and on two hearths in Stithians 1664 (These had belonged to Walter PEARSE in 1662 and were probably at Nanpean Wartha). He was a Yeoman of Stithians. His Will was dated 14 January 1687/8 and proved 11 March 1688/9. (It mentions his leasehold tenement of Nanpean Wartha and his lease of one third of Nanpean Wollas, both in Stithians), the inventory totalled £40, including 'his land in Nanpean Wartha where on he lived - £12'.
