• fact. 1841 Census Shows - Persis KNUCKEY (age 35) living at Crellow, Stithians, Kerrier, Cornwall with her husband Richard (Copper Miner - age 40) and their children Hugh (age 13), Mary (age 10), Rosina (age 7), Persis (age 5) and Ann (age 2). Also William KNUCKEY (age 11) and her mother in law Susan KNUCKEY (age 75). HO107 / 139/3 70 23. Persis and Richard KNUCKEY and their family of 4 daughters & 4 sons arrived in Ausralia on the ship "William Money" on 3rd January 1849. Soon after their arrival Persis and the four girls with William and Hugh left for Victoria where they settled. Richard and the other two boys, Richard and John, moved to Kapunda where they settled.
