General Notes: James Grey was his father who was a master confectioner and lived in Rutherglen Glasgow. James Grey married Mary on 18/11/1853 in Rutherglen, Glasgow, Scotland. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Labourer. He was also a merchant seaman who legend has it that he jumped ship in Sydney. We do know that he came to Sydney in his 19 and 20's. He arrived on 3 Aug 1889 on the Cailock which sailed from Dunedin. He also arrived in Sydney on 15th March 1890 on the Natuna which had sailed from Glasgow.
