I am a researcher for the Australian War Memorial and have given a task with has led me to John Banfield & Elizabeth Emma (nee COOPER) BRAY. I had hit a brick wall with who the correct Elizabeth Emma COOPER as there are two thoughts, one with her born in Victoria & the other NSW. Unfortunately one lot of incorrect information is snowballing but one positive this is 99% do have her death as 26-01-1942 Ryde NSW area (4617/1942 Ryde NSW).
I believe my research now proves Elizabeth Emma BOOTH, the wife of John Banfield BRAY, was born in Victoria and NOT Sydney NSW as most have. Saying this I am happy to be told I have goofed and stand to be corrected. Her marriage certificate would clarify who she is.
Elizabeth Emma (nee BOOTH) the wife of John Banfield BRAY died 26th January 1942 in Ryde NSW area with death registration 4617/1942 with parents named are Benjamin and Elizabeth. This corresponds with the birth of Elizabeth Emma COOPER born 19 February 1869, East Ballarat, Victoria (6282/1869 Ballarat) the daughter of Benjamin COOPER and Elizabeth POWTER.
He later added:
I have used the surname COOPER instead of BOOTH. To clarify my request it should have read I am confused as to who is the the correct Elizabeth Emma BOOTH, married to John Banfield BRAY. Her death registration (4617/1942 Ryde) gives her parents as Benjamin and Elizabeth. I realise this information is not always correct and is only a good as the knowledge of the informant.
There are two births for the period being:
1. Elizabeth Emma BOOTH born 1869 in Ballarat Victoria to Benjamin & Elizabeth (nee POWTER) (6282/1869)
2. Elizabeth (no middle name) BOOTH born 1868 to John & Martha in Sydney (2509/1868 Ryde)
Unfortunately as a volunteer researcher for the Australian War Memorial I do not have any funds to purchase certificates so have to do it the hard way and it is here I need your assistance BIB, BIG please.
Do you have a copy of her marriage certificate or have you read the whole of the Death Certificate and what to they say

• source. & Neville & Moya Bray who says that she was also known as Eliza E Booth and as of 1929 she was also known as Emma E Bray
• alt birth, 19 Feb 1869, East Ballarat, Victoria Australia.
• alt death, 1941, Junee, NSW Australia.
Elizabeth married John Banfield Bray, son of Thomas Alfred Bray and Sarah Ann Landeryou, in 1888 in Lambton, Newcastle, NSW Australia. (John Banfield Bray was born on 28 Oct 1861 in Waratah, Newcastle, NSW Australia and died on 25 May 1924 in Wallsend, Newcastle, NSW Australia.)
