Noted events in his life were: • Obituary. Newcastle Morning Herald 6 September 1917 Obituary Later Mr Jacobson. the funeral of the late Mr Peter L Jacobson took place yesterday afternoon. The deceased had been a resident of Waratah for more than 40 years and was 65 years of age at the time of his death, which happened very suddenly on Monday evening after he had given an address at the Christian Endeavour Society meeting at the Methodist Church. Mr Prigg and Mr Esllek represented the Oddfellows as Pallbearers and Messrs Errington and Jacka represented the Methodist Church in the same capacity. The Newcastle District Bowling Associa tion was represented by the secretary Mr Wallace and the Waratah Bowling Club by the patron, president and several other members. Mr Stewart Methodist Minister officiated at the graveside. The Masonic service was conducted by Bro T A Braye. Mr Jacobson had been a resident of New South Wales for 46 years. During that time he had only had two employers, Mr James Russell (contractor) for 26 years and the Sulphide Corporation for the past 20 years as shipping clerk. In which capacity he served at the time of his death. He had been a a local preacher in the Methodist Church for 40 years . During a portion of this time he also occupied the position of trustee and took an active part in Sunday school work . He was also secretary of the Waratah Bowling club. Mr Jacobson is mourned by his widow, five daughters and three sons one of whom is on active service • connection. Kevin Jacobson's connection to Robert is as follows: • emigrated, 1869. 25 Peter married Elizabeth Landeryou Bray, daughter of Thomas Alfred Bray and Sarah Ann Landeryou, on 31 Dec 1878 in Thomas Bray's Residence, Waratah, Newcastle, NSW Australia.
