• source. Gary Curnick who got it from Julie Aldous & John Lynch @ genes

• fact. John Lynch states:
Born in Arlesey. Went to Highgate as a maid when she was a young woman. Met John Lynch when he came to do some carpentry work in the house where she was working. Family lore is that she married John while she was carrying his child, May, who died in infancy, but I have so far found no trace of this child. Lived in later life at 204 Arlesey Road (or High Street), Arlesey Brother George lived in Arlesey when Ann Batey was there. He had 2 or 3 children by his house keeper and eventually married her (Source: Ann Batey). Brother Cecil was the youngest child. Roughly the same age as RWJ Lynch and went to football matches and elsewhere together. Married a Welsh girl and had one son. She left him and they were divorced. Cecil's great interest was keeping greyhounds (Source: Ann Batey). Sisters: Millie, Eddy (Edith) Selina and Dorothy Dorothy was 'the posh one', married to a man from Tyne Dock and had a son who 'rose high up in the Air Force.' Ann Batey visited Dorothy's mother-in-law in Tyne Dock with RWJ Lynch's mother and describes her as 'very old.' Dorothy probably met her husband when he was posted to Henlow (Source: Ann Batey). Millie married Alan Roberts and had one son who served in Belgium during WWII, met a Belgian woman, married her and brought her back to Arlesey. He died in a motorcycle accident on icy roads in Arlesey some time after the war. The wife got a nanny's job, possibly in Biggleswade. Alan was involved with Arlesey FC, probably as Secretary. He had to give this up because of Millicent's opposition. 'He had a hell of a life.' (Source: Ann Batey) Eddy married X Eustace and had two children: Pearl and Sheila. Sheila worked in Arlesey Co-op . Pearl left home as soon as she could and Ann Batey believes she went to Peterborough. (Source: Ann Batey) Selina never married after her fiance was killed in WWI. Described by Ann Batey as 'the nice one.' Lived at one time with Eddie and Eustace and then with her mother. Was living with her mother in 1941. Died fairly young in Arlesey. (Source: Ann Batey)
