& John Lynch @ genes who states:
George was Eliza Rook's son, but there's no reason to suppose he was William Dear's. Eliza had another child before she and William married. • note. Graham Rook notes:
You may recall that I was in contact with you some years ago and I may have misinformed you regarding my family line. My father, Ralph George Rook, was born in Arlesey, NOT Stotfold in 1907, NOT 1910. There had also been some doubt in the family as to whether his father, George Rook, was the son of William Dear as he was registered with his mother's name, Rook. I have, for some years, endeavoured to find a member of the Dear family who had taken a DNA test to compare with mine. A few days ago I received an update from My Heritage with my latest matches and I was inforfmed that an Amanda Laidler was my first cousin once removed or my second cousin. I contacted Amanda and found that she was descended from both the Dears and the Rooks and the closeness of our DNA data confirm that George Rook's father WAS William Dear. This means that for three generations (four including my two daughters) my family has been registered as Rooks when we really should be Dears. I am more than happy with the name Rook, so I have no plans to change my name now.

George married Ada Henrietta Hewson on 7 Apr 1901 in Christ Church, West Green, London England. (Ada Henrietta Hewson was born on 1 Mar 1868 in Poplar, Kensington, Greater London, London, Middlesex England and died in Jul 1937 in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire England.)
