The OBITUARY NOTICE in the local newspaper reads as follows:-
"MRS SUSANNAH SHERWOOD, widow of Frank Sherwood, and one of the oldest natives of the colony, passed away peacefully to her rest at the residence of her son, Mr James Sherwood, well known fruitgrower of Seven Hills, on Monday last after an illness of but five days. Born at Toongabbie in 1806, the deceased could well claim to be one of those who saw the dawning of the history of this colony. Her father, Mr Simon Moulds, was one of the pioneers who settled at Toongabbie, and there at the age 18 years the deceased met and married at St. John's Parramatta, Frank Sherwood. The old lady retained her senses up to the last, and when Dr. Phillips was called in and at once said that the end was at hand, she was acquainted with the fact and was quite resigned to the inevitable. Mrs Sherwood had eleven children, nine of whom are living, and she leaves behind her 104 grandchildren and 130 great-grandchildren. The funeral, all the arrangements of which were conducted by Mr Metcalfe, took place on Tuesday and the body of the venerable lady was interred in the Rouse Hill cemetery in the presence of a numerous concourse of friends and relatives. The Rev. Dixon-Hudson read the funeral service at the grave."

Susannah married Francis Sherwood, son of Francis Sherwood and Joice Duden, on 22 Apr 1827 in Parramatta, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Francis Sherwood was born circa 1796, christened on 14 Jan 1796 in Whittington, Worcestershire England, died on 23 Mar 1853 in Seven Hills, Sydney, NSW Australia and was buried on 25 Mar 1853 in St Johns, Parramatta, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
