There is a distinct possibility that William Ellis was killed in 1917 in WW I and the record from the CWC site the name of his wife is given as Margaret not Minnie. Found dead on the seashore at Clynnog landing having been washed up by the tide no evidence to show how or when he got into the sea.
His inquest is reported in the Liverpool Daily Post and Mercury Friday 23rd 1915.
