  Noted events in her life were:

• fact. Was musical. Played and sang. Interested in womens' movements and was a member of a number of associations. CWA Foundation president at Ipswich. Red Cross, Girls Friendly Society, Girl Guides (Divisional Commissioner, North Brisbane, from 1933) Held office in some or all of those organisations at Charters Towers, Croydon, Cooktown, Chillagoe, Mt Morgan, Cloncurry ( Founding President), Goondiwindi, Ipswich (First President), where there is a memorial park, and Brisbane. Had a special interest in Guides and after her death on the 17th August 1940, a new guide hut was named the Mary Tregear Hut in her honour. (Now at Jolly Park), The Mary Tregear Library was founded (Now part of the Kindilan Library), and her surviving family provided a cup- the Tregear Cup - to be awarded annually to the Guide company which had tried its hardest that year. The cup is still competed for
