Naomi Button Harrold
General Notes: The following is a short extract of Naomi's life. At the age of 12 she was sent away to be a domestic servant. By the age of 22 she was married to Frederick Button and a miners wife, living in South Normanton, Derbyshire. They had twins called Thomas and Mary Ellen. I think her first husband died shortly afterwards but I have no proof of this. Her second husband Samuel Driver, is my great great grandfather. They had another 8 children. Samuel also had one son from a previous marriage. In total there has been 11 children but some died in infancy. They eventually settled down in Horbury, West Yorkshire in the 1890's. Their descendants continue to live to this day in Horbury, including me. Their eldest son was called Johnson Harold Moody Driver. Johnson is a popular name from the Driver clan but I always suspected his middle names were also important. I strongly believe Naomi picked Harold because it was her maiden name Noted events in her life were: • source. Naomi married Samuel Francis Driver in Mar 1888 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire England. (Samuel Francis Driver was born in 1858 in Scawby Brook, Lincolnshire England and died on 13 Apr 1932 in Horbury, Yorkshire England.) Naomi next married Frederick Button in Sep 1879 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire England. (Frederick Button was born circa 1855.) |
