The occupation given as "Farmer" on marriage and death certificate see ms to be pretentious ... all Census (over a period of 30 years or more li st occupation as Agricultural Labourer).

At some point between 1861 and 1871, the family moved from rural Yorkshi re around Kirby Overblow/Weardly/Harewood to Bradford where most of the yo unger members of the family worked in a Silk Mill. William Whitehouse t he father still gave his occupation at Agricultural Labourer. Ellen h is wife did not work.

Most of the elder boys and girls had left the family home at this point.

William married Ellen Harrison, daughter of William Harrison and Mary Wood, on 23 Nov 1844 in Harewood or Otley, West Yorkshire England. (Ellen Harrison was born on 28 Apr 1822 in Harewood, West Yorkshire England and died after 1891.)
