Emigrated to Australia, arriving 17th August 1875. Phillis died a few days later as did theit daughter Matilda. Both buried on Peel Island Quarantine station with contageous diseases. David never remarried.

David married Phillis Pilgrim, daughter of Nathan Pilgrim and Bathsheba Aldous, 1862 (1Q) in Guiltcross, Norfolkshire England. (Phillis Pilgrim was born about 1832 in Kenninghall, Guiltcross, Norfolk England and died on 25 Aug 1875 in Peel Island Quarantine, Queensland Australia.)
