Main source of information Graham Barsby 1965 still living 2005

Arrhytmogenic right ventricular dysplasia is a rare cause of dilated cardiomyopathy in which there is gradual replacement of the myocardium of the right ventricle by fibroadipose tissue. The left ventricle is normal or nearly normal.

It is most common in young men and may be familial.

Presentation may be with ventricular tachycardia of right ventricular origin, or in some cases it may be asymptomatic and the first presentation is with sudden death.

The condition is progressive and results in:

eventual right ventricular dilatation
right ventricular failure
may be also left ventricular failure

MEMORIAL IN NORTHERN ECHO

BARSBY Philip June 4, 2005
On this day a year ago,
Fate made us go our separate ways,
But in my heart this can't be done,
Because I love you my dear son.
It does not need a special day
To bring you to our minds,
For the days we do not think of you,
Are very hard to find.
Love always
Dad, Jackie, Daniel, Tanya and grandparents.
