In 1841 census the family were living in Paradise Row, North Seisdon, Staffs and were all nailors apart from Samuel who was a miner at that time. In 1851. still in paradise Row in Upper Gornal and Samuel was a ?Ironstone miner (cannot read enumerator's writing).
Samuel married Phebey Wasdell, daughter of Thomas Wasdell and Eleanor Fellow. (Phebey Wasdell was born circa 1798 in Staffordshire England.)
