She worked as a book keeper in the chemist shop for much of her life. She had a lot of sickness in her life from excess weight. She lost her leg because of blood infection from a tooth extraction. She is buried in Sydney.

Ruby married Bert Truscott, son of Charles Thomas (Tom) Truscott and Mary Alice Forster, in 1930 in St Peters, Sydney, NSW Australia.³⁷¹ (Bert Truscott was born on 17 Jul 1903 in Emmaville, NSW Australia, died on 17 May 1983 in Dorrigo, NSW Australia and was buried in Lismore Crematorium, Lismore, NSW Australia.)
