my wife's grandmother is Peggy Scurrah née Cresswell. Her real name is Alicia Short b1905 to Gertrude Una Brown, daughter of Gertrude Walters Cresswell nee Brown. Gertrude Walters Cresswell married Alfred John Cresswell's son, William Chidlow Cresswell. The Cresswell family emigrated to Adelaide from England in 1874. Peggy lists her father as William Chidlow Cresswell and her mother as Gertrude Walters Brown on her marriage record - it seems she was brought up believing Gertrude Una Brown (her mother) and her were actually sisters. All very confusing.
