Wilbur Jock Johnson 1920-2004, March 29, 2004, in part:
The eldest son of the late Reg and Vera Johnson of Bombala and previously of Candelo, Jock was a former proprietor-editor, with his brother Jerry, of the Bombala Times newspaper until relinquishing ownership on February 8, 1985.
As a schoolboy he worked after school in his father's newspaper, the "Candelo Southern Record" and on leaving school in 1935 continued working there for three years.
He went to Bombala in 1938 with his parents, sister Marcie and brother Jerry, when his father became proprietor-editor of the Bombala Times.
Jock married Ve in England in 1943 while he was serving in the Air Force. He was a Flight Lt. in 179 Squadron.
Two daughters born in England, son born in Bombala NSW.
On returning to Bombala Jock continued to work with his father in the newspaper. His wife, Ve, died on May 23, 1990.
He was a foundation member of the Bombala Apex Club and served in several official positions with the vlub for many years.
He was also much involved with the Bombala Golf Club and the Bombala RSL Sub-branch, being president for several years


Wilbur married Vera Hillditch. (Vera Hillditch was born in 1923 in England and died on 23 May 1990 in Bombala, NSW Australia 604.)
