Thomas rented a property from the Earl of Dudley's estate for the years 1747-1769. (3)
This was later taken over by his son Shelah.
In the Cottage Rentals for the Earl of Dudley's estates, for the Rowley Regis area, there is an entry
for a William Jn Garrett renting a 'New Enclosed Pleck' (A plot of ground).
For 1799-1803 this was 1s, and in 1804-09 1s 3d, plus New Inclosure 6s 3d, total 7s 6d. (4)
His last year of rental was 1815.
In 1796 they were living in Golden Green, Rowley Regis. (Park Lane Presbyterian, Cradley Heath, registers)
Hannah Garratt is listed in the Gentlemen's Magazine The Gentleman's magazine, Volume 109, pg 94. as aged 100 on her death.

Thomas married Hannah Smith on 21 Jun 1736 in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire England.⁷⁸⁴ (Hannah Smith was christened on 21 Aug 1715 in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire England and was buried on 20 Jan 1811 in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire England ⁷⁸⁴.)
