  General Notes:

Jan Abello (nee Milton) notes:
Mudgee Guardian 1 Nov 1917:
Mr & Mrs F Riddle of Burrendulla, Mudgee, yesterday received a cable stating that their son, Private Ernest Riddle, had been dangerously wounded in France. Another son of Mr & Mrs Riddle made the supreme sacrifice some two years ago and a third son, Private Jack Riddle, is at present on the front. We sincerely trust that the parents of this brave fighting family may soon be informed of the good news that their son is progressing favourably and that his wounds are no so serious as are presently thought.
Western Post 6 Mar 1919:Private Ernest Riddle A.I.F.
Son of Mr & Mrs Fred Riddle, Burrendulla, returned to Mudgee Wednesday morning after 2 1/2 years action in service.
He received severe wounds at Passchendale necessitating the amputation of his right leg, othewise, he is in good health. He has been provided with an artificial limb and to all appearances is only slightly lame.
Mrs Ernest Riddle, a London lady, is the first of the English brides married in England to arrive in Mudgee.
Their future home will be in Sydney.

Ernest married Constance. (Constance was born circa 1890 and was buried on 30 Dec 1984 in North Rocks, Sydney, NSW Australia 703.)
