William Robertson senior died at a young age on 11 August 1951 in Mauchline, East Ayrshire, Scotland. By this time his wife his wife was living in England for reasons unknown. It is said that she "abandoned" the family but I have no real idea of the true story, only that she was remarried to an English man very shortly after her first husbands death leading me to believe that she possibly left the family for another man. It would also seem strange for a woman in Scotland to move to a random town in England at this time. After William seniors death, my grandfather William was left alone to care for his 3 younger siblings, but was unable to due to his age, so the children went to England in search of thier mother Annie Purvis.
William married Annie Wood McLauchlin Purvis. (Annie Wood McLauchlin Purvis was born on 30 Apr 1912 in Ayr, Ayreshire Scotland 523.)
