Charles Lester Gordon Trewin

• source. & Doug Hooper who notes: He was a Police Constable when, on 5/9/1914, he enlisted in the 4th Light Horse of the Australian Infantry Forces. He was very soon promoted to Sergeant whilst serving in Gallipoli, and on 17/10/1915 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. Three months later he was promoted to Lieutenant.

He was sent to Egypt where he received training to be a Hotchkiss Gun Instructor. On 22/8/1918 he was promoted to Captain. He was discharged on 16/4/1919.

On 7/7/1940 he re-enlisted in the Army and served as a Captain in the 7th Training Battalion of the Australian Army but was discharged on 4/10/1941.

Charles married Irene after 1920. (Irene was born circa 1890.)
