No relation to James LaPenotiere (1931), at least not as far as I know.

John Collings and Charlotte LaPenotiere (1807) had James Collings (your direct relative), as well as Mary Louisa Collings (1839) - presumably a sister to James. Mary Louisa Collings is my great, great grandmother. Mary Collings son Ernest Frank Philp (born 1869) is on your tree. Ernest was married twice (his first wife died), and my grandfather Frank Philp was a son by his second wife. Frank Philp, and my father Andrew Philp were both born in Pelynt in Cornwall. I have a sister, Charlotte LaPenotiere Philp, her middle name came from the LaPenotiere connection. My other sister is married to a fellow from NZ and lives in Christchurch.

Likely of greater interest to you is that we have a couple of generations further back in the LaPenotiere history - believe we have details of the father and grandfather of Frederick LaPenotiere who was born in 1743.

John married Charlotte LaPenotiere, daughter of Frederick LaPenotiere and Mary Day, on 27 Jun 1832 in Stoke Damerel, Plymouth, Devon England. (Charlotte LaPenotiere was born on 6 Sep 1802 in Loughton, Essex England, christened on 11 Dec 1802 in Loughton, Essex England and died in 1844 in Pelynt, Cornwall England.)
