Isaac and Mary arrived in Australia 1849 aboard the "Tory" from Plymouth, England.
It has been claimed that Isaac was the first man to discover gold in Rocky River. Isaac died from spinal injuries received from falling down a mine shaft.

Isaac married Mary Ann Shaw, daughter of John Shaw and Ruth Cave, on 7 Nov 1847 in Leicester, Leicestershire England. (Mary Ann Shaw was born circa 1820 in Littlewood, Leicestershire England and died on 28 Apr 1919 in West End, Uralla, NSW Australia.)
