She was born 1^st Dec. 1852 at Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tenn. and is living (1916) at Marble City, Okla. with her mother and daughter Minnie. She was daughter of William Gladden and Nancy (Billingsley) Black. Her father was born in Clarksville, Tenn. 10^th Oct. 1830; m. Nancy, dau. of Reuben and Adelia Jane Billingsley in Clarksville, Tenn. 11^th March 1850. Her mother was born in Clarksville, 5^th June 1837 (sic); living, (1916) in marble City, Okla. Dudley Kirkbride served as a private in the Union Army during the Civil War, two years and eleven months, in Co. K. 92^nd regt., Ohio Volunteer Infantry.

Adelia married Dudley Kirkbride, son of William Kirkbride and Unknown, on 27 Jun 1869 in Olatha, Kansas USA. (Dudley Kirkbride was born on 21 Sep 1829 in Monroe County, Ohio USA and died on 6 Sep 1906 in Burlington, Coffee County, Kansas USA.)
