Abiel Savage, served with rank of corporal in an engineering regt. or co. of the west and was at Vicksburg in 1863. He was attending school at Spring Grove, ILL. In Jan. 1853; was teaching in the Christian University in Canton Mo. In Jan. 1869; was living in Kansas, 19^th may 1870; was living in Independence, Montgomery co. Kans. 25^th June 1871; and at that time he had but one child, and was teaching in the High-school at that time in Independence, Kans.
