• notes. Thomas Leftwich was Captain in General Edward Stevens' regiment, Virginia, afterwards made Colonel and commanded the rear guard of General Gates' division at the battle of Camden. Soon after the Revolutionary War, he served as Major, Lieutenant Colonel and Colenel, respectively of the 10th Regiment of the Virginia Militia.


Thomas married Jane (Gincey) Stratton. (Jane (Gincey) Stratton was born in 1762 in Caroline County, Virginia USA and died in 1806 in Leesville, Bedford County, Virginia USA.)
