The family of William Willis have Susannah's surname asBELCHERonWilliam's death certificate. There is no evidence of anearliermarriagefound so far. I have researched all the census entries forthevillageand area for both without finding evidence to make me altertheBARDRICKname on the marriage certificate. There was only oneBardrickfamily inChalgrove, as it appears on this tree.
Unfortunately, the Chalgrove Parish Registers were damaged byfireandwater. The very year I needed to check Susannah's birthdetailswasobliterated. Her age on 1871 census suggested that she was bornin1792.There was no Susannah Belcher born around that timealthoughBelchersappear in Chalgrove. I believe Susannah was the youngestchild ofThomasBardrick and Mary Tom(b)s. Also a Badrick family came toAustraliaon thesame voyage as William and Maria, Kate and Thomas Willis.I madecontactwith a Badrick but she was rather rude and refused toentertainanyconnection so we may never know if they were related.
