According to Mary Ann's marriage certificate in 1849 William Walters was a farmer.
In the 1861 census Lucy Walters is described as "Head of household. Widow. Aged 57. Public House Keeper" The pub in question was the Half Moon on Garway Common, which is still there.

Lucy married William Walters on 29 Jul 1824 in St John The Baptist, Hereford, Herefordshire England. (William Walters was born circa 1800 and died before 1861.)
