  General Notes:

Peter Morris notes:
George Alexander Park was born at Leith, a suburb of Edinburgh, in Scotland. In 1924 he migrated to Australia travelling aboard the ship 'TSS Euripidies' and came ashore in Brisbane. By this time his father (George) had remarried and had a new family. George spent his early years in Australia at Mossman in North Queensland working, initially as a cane cutter, and then as a barber and proprietor of a billiard saloon, both located in the local hotel building. He later moved to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains where he met Keith and Thelma Morris.
And it was at Katoomba in 1928 that George married Dorothy G. Pearce. There was a girl born of this union but their divorce was made final on Feb. 11, 1953. George served with the 2/9 Australian Cavalry Regiment from July 1940 to November 1945 (NX58211). George Park served in the Middle East and New Guinea theatres of war and received a T&PI pension in Jan, 1965. He died on August 17, 1978 while living at Lawson in the Blue Mountains and was cremated at Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
