Stan was a soldier with the NZ Army in North Africa and Italy. He was wounded in the Battle of Monte Cassino, and was deaf in one ear for the rest of his life.
Stanley married Vilolet Mary (Vi) Weir, daughter of Weir and Unknown. (Vilolet Mary (Vi) Weir was born on 1 Aug 1925 and died on 19 Oct 2005 in Invercargill, Southland New Zealand 1111.)
