As for the Dobinsons, it appears that my grandfather, Walter Dobinson should have been Walter Campbell. His grandfather took his mother's maiden name instead. I believe her name was Hannah Dobinson. I do know that my grandfather was born in South Shields, Durham England and moved to Australia when he was about 3.

Walter married Elsie Clare, daughter of John Thomas Clare and Annie Olson. (Elsie Clare was born in 1901.)
