Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson

   Cause of his death was a strangulated liguinal hernia, septic peritonitis.

The 'McBean' part of his name was due to a grazier named William McBean who settled in the Yass area. He along with several others including Daniel's father Donald were the main instigators in the establishment of the Presbyterian Church in Yass (where Daniel was baptised).
When Catherine married outside of the Church she and her family were never acknowledged by either of her parents.
Daniel was a labourer in June 1893.
After Catherine died, Daniel apparently didn't help raise the children; they were fostered or looked after by family and friends in the Winton and Kyuna district. There is some suggestion that their grandmother never acknowledged her grandchildren, yet according to the birth certificates she assisted with at least some of the births.
Catherine Ann O'Reilly only recalls seeing her father Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson once, just before she turned 21. He was a labourer in November 1921.
