The Abramovitch family came from Belarus to the UK around 1910 and spent the next 40 years changing names. Sam (my GF) changed first to Cohen, had two daughters (including my mother) and then changed to Collins before the third child was born. His brother Louis went from Abramovitch to Cohen to Braham. His other brother came to Canada as a Cohen. So mom and dad remained Abramovitch, two sons died a Collins, one a Cohen and one a Braham.
