Lee-Anne was born to Parents Peter and Robyn Brewer. When Peter and Robyn separated before divorcing, Robyn's mother, Thelma Jean Brannigan, wanted to take care of Lee-Anne. Thelma Jean also wanted to Change Lee-Anne's name to Brannigan.
Both Peter and Robyn signed a letter giving permission to Thelma Jean to change Lee-Ann's name to "Brannigan". Thelma Jean, against the wishes of Peter and Robyn, changed Lee-Ann's name to Leanne Brannigan, changing the spelling of her Christian name as well as her surname.
