Florence was a VAD working in Birmingham during WWI. My grandfather was gassed at the Somme in May 1917 and was sent to Birmingham to recuperate. They met there and corresponded until February 1919 when they were married and repatriated to Australia. Florence died in 1926 in childbirth.

Florence married Thomas Henry Ford, son of Patrick Ford and Constance Mary Landsdown, on 17 Feb 1919 in St Peters, Harbourne, Birminghamshire England. (Thomas Henry Ford was born in 1894 in Merriwa, NSW Australia, died in 1964 in Concord, Sydney, NSW Australia and was buried in Northern Suburbs Cemetery, Macquarie Park, Sydney, NSW Australia C of E Section.)
