John, born 1782 in Ireland was tried in 1799 and convicted to transportation for life in Galway Ireland. he was transported aboard the ship 'Atlas' arriving in the colony on 7 Jul 1802, age given as 20. His trade or calling was a landholder and farmer.

John married Ann Chipp on 16 Feb 1807 in Parramatta, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Ann Chipp was born circa 1793 in Norfolk Island Penal Settlement, NSW Australia and died on 17 Aug 1854 in Parramatta, Sydney, NSW Australia.)
