  • Marriage (1): Susannah Cross on 3 Feb 1812 in Windsor, NSW Australia
  • Died: 2 Feb 1815, Wilberforce, County of Cumberland, NSW Australia about age 49

Noted events in his life were:

• source. Marion Purnell where it is noted:
Anthony Richardson, a labourer aged 20, was sentenced to death, at the 2 April 1787 Kingston (Surrey) Assizes for the burglary on 30 Jan of Joseph Hampsher's house at Cobham village or small town SW of London). Amongst the stolen items were a silver watch, a velveret waistcoat, a cotton and silk waistcoat, a pair of stockings and a pair of plated buckles, all belonging to John [sic] Hampsher. He was reprieved soon afterwards to 14 years transportation and remained in the county gaol until August 1788, when he was ordered to the Ceres hulk and Langstone Harbour, Portsmouth age given as 20. On November 1789 he was embarked on the ship 'Surprize'.
Anthony was mustered as a resident of Sydney in 1801; he appears to have been working for wages in the town (or in the surrounding farming districts). At about this time he purchased a 15 acre farm in the Hawkesbury of which in 1802 he was cultivating 8 acres in wheat and 4 in maize. He owned 8 hogs and held 30 bushels of maize in store, supporting himself, a woman, and two free workers.
In jul 1803 he was working Atkins farm in the Hawkesbury where he assigned the value of his crops to secure a debt of £12/16/6 he owed to the insolvent estate of William Cox. This land was probably the same 15 acres he was holding by purchase in 1806. Financial difficulties are suggested by the fact that he owned only one hog and the fact that he had no grain in store. He had no employees and supported himself and his housekeeper, Elizabeth Humphries ('Mary Ann' 1791, tried Warwick). She had been living with Richardson since prior to Oct 1798 when their daughter Charlotte was baptised in Sydney. The baby died in Nov 1799 and the couple were childless in 1806.
Anthony signed his name to the register and Susannah made her mark. Their daughter Rosanna was born on 8 Feb 1814 and Richardson was mustered as a Hawkesbury district landholder in that year. He had beenin financial difficulty once, in Jun 1803 when his effects were advertised for sale by execution unless creditors' claims were met. He was again in trouble in a similar advertisement appeared in Oct 183. Other notices appeared in Feb, May and Aug 1814 and finally on 21 Jan 1815, less than a fortnight before his death.

Anthony married Susannah Cross, daughter of Charles Cross and Rose Hannah Flood, on 3 Feb 1812 in Windsor, NSW Australia. (Susannah Cross was born in 1792 in Wilberforce, County of Cumberland, NSW Australia and died on 27 Aug 1872 in Singleton, NSW Australia.)
